John and Holly McManus both graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School. John then went to work for a local printing company while Holly continued doing bookkeeping for various local companies. They eventually realized how much they wanted a business of their own. On May 1, 1998 the first Heidelberg’s opened in North Lincoln at 33rd and Superior. The name was inspired by an elite printing press John had worked with at his previous job. Five years later, on August 8th, the second location was opened in South Lincoln on 16th and Old Cheney. The success of Heidelberg’s was greatly due to their ability to accommodate groups and parties of any size, large or small. The menu has over 90 menu items that are diverse enough to satisfy any taste.
Heidelberg’s is based on the philosophy that it is “All about the people”, from guests to employees to vendors. Maintaining this focus has allowed our past success and is our vision for the future. We would like to thank you for your continuing support, and look forward to seeing you soon.
